National Security Internship Program

Apply now for academic year 2008-2009 (Application Deadline is August 1st)

Since the impact of national security policy is so widespread there is no specific major required to apply for this internship. The student intern will work with the Pacific Institute, local law enforcement executives, members of the intelligence community, and community leaders on programming related to all aspects of national security including but not limited to: intelligence and first amendment values, impact on immigration and migrant communities, the use of information and communication technologies (ICT), and bio-terrorism. Student will be expected to assist programming in the following ways: research for curriculum development & funding opportunities, maintaining online resources, attending conference planning meetings and assisting with implementation. Available as a 2,3 or 4 credit hour internship spread over the academic year (Ideal is 2 cr/hr per term). Schedule is flexible. Approximate hours per week - 5 hours per semester cr/hr (i.e. 10 hrs/wk using the ideal scenario of 2 cr/hr's per term.) Requirements: Sophomore standing.
